Podcasts seem like they have become the new blog. Starting one has crossed my mind from time to time because of how easy it is talk versus write. While I may be a writer, I’ve found that I’m also a speaker. As an extrovert, creating an intuitive conversation and making others feel at ease is one of my strengths.

When you’re starting a new conversation keep in mind two key things, remember that people enjoy talking about themselves, so ask lots of questions. Find a common interest and use it to your advantage, whether it’s being informative, instructive, or entertaining. Since podcasts have been influential in my entrepreneurship lifestyle, here’s the round up of what I’ve been listening to and episodes I’ve been featured on.

Natalie Sisson’s Suitcase Entrepreneur

Natalie Sisson is a Kiwi from New Zealand who inspired me years ago because she lives the life I’ve always imagined. The ability to pick up and travel whenever you’d like and work and live from anywhere in the world sounds magical and enticing. It also sounds like it would take quite a bit of funds, however, as a digital nomad, Natalie Sisson has been able to provide products and services that allow entrepreneurs around the world to follow in her steps.

Since she’s someone I look up to in the entrepreneurial world, I sent her an email asking if I could be a guest on her podcast. A podcast which has had the likes of Seth Godin, Jill Stanton from Screw the 9-5, Nathan Chan of Foundr Magazine, and many more. It just so happened she was doing a month-long focus on book publishing when I reached out to her.

The Robert Plank Show

Robert reached out to me via email to see if I’d be interested in coming on his show and chatting about self-publishing and book marketing. His show is focused on helping online entrepreneurs make money from their websites. If that’s an area where you need expertise I recommend checking out his show.

Meg of That Hummingbird Life is golden, she is such a lifesaver with this amazing podcast. Just the word Couragemakers is unconventional, making me think of people who have come from behind and have the courage to move ahead. Much like the pioneers, sometimes you don’t know what lies ahead but you keep going anyways. I am such a huge fan of her mission and the way it inspires me and I hope you’ll feel the same.

Inspiring Millennials

I met Rachel Ritlop in a Facebook Group and she’s not just simply brilliant, she’s also supportive and takes the “collaboration over competition” phrase to a new level. Conversations with her make my day which is why I was excited to be a guest on her vlog. I’m also a speaker at the Master Your Career Virtual Summit (if you read this before November 7th you can grab your free ticket here).

Rachel gets that millennials are multi-passionate which is why we discussed how to handle the question: “What do you do?” When the answer is: “A little bit of everything.”

Twelve Minute Convos

Recently I had the opportunity to have a twelve minute conversation with Engel Jones. He’s on a mission to have 1,509 twelve minute conversations over the course of 3 months. Can you imagine? Although the conversation I had which Engel won’t be released until December, you can listen in to some of the others here.

Positive Productivity

Have you ever noticed how negative you can be towards yourself? Since I’ve been an entrepreneur I’ve realized how down on myself I can get and how a negative outlook affects my mindset. Kim Sutton comebacks this in her podcast, Positive Productivity. Plus, listening to her voice is calming and encouraging.
